The Rockchip PX2 is a low-power, high-performance processor designed specifically for automotive audio systems, intercoms, POS terminals, and various industrial applications. It is equipped with a dual-core Cortex-A9 processor, complemented by dedicated NEON and FPU coprocessors.

An integrated 3D GPU ensures comprehensive compatibility with OpenGL ES 2.0 and 1.1, as well as OpenVG 1.1. A specialized 2D hardware engine, equipped with an MMU, enhances display functionalities and ensures smooth operational performance. Multiple embedded hardware engines facilitate optimized performance for advanced tasks. The RK PX2 supports a broad spectrum of video formats, including capabilities for decoding 1080p at 60fps and encoding H.264/MVC/VP8 at 1080p at 30fps. Furthermore, it features high-quality JPEG encoding and decoding, along with dedicated image pre-processing and post-processing features.

The processor also offers a high-performance external memory interface compatible with DDR3, LPDDR2, and LVDDR3, capable of handling demanding memory bandwidth requirements. Additionally, it provides an extensive array of peripheral interfaces to support a diverse range of applications.
