
From September 23–27 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center, Shanghai, Rockchip (stock code 603893) (booth 5.2H-D015) participated in the 25th China International Industry Fair (“CIIF”). Under the theme “On-Device AI Empowering Industry,” Rockchip exhibited its on-device high-computing co-processor RK182X and the next-generation 4K industrial vision processor RV1126BJ, the “AI+” industrial multi-scenario innovations, and its latest achievements in emerging applications such as robotics and intelligent cockpits, helping advance the localisation and intelligence of new-type industry.
On-device AI: multimodal and large-models, leading human-machine interaction transformation
Following the Developer Conference release, at the CIIF, Rockchip formally showcased its RK1828 on-device AI computing co-processor running 7B large models, and the new industrial vision chip RV1126BJ. With these two major new chips, Rockchip demonstrated innovative applications in the frontier fields of deploying large language models (LLMs) and digital human interaction on-device, showing strong technical capabilities.
The RK182X features high computing power and high bandwidth, supports 3B/7B large models with output exceeding hundreds of tokens/second, and allows stacking of one or more RK182X co-processors to significantly boost the AI processing capability of traditional industrial equipment. It embeds high-bandwidth DRAM to meet the bandwidth demands of large models and is compatible with the OpenAI API interface, greatly lowering the integration threshold, providing industries with a secure, reliable, and cost-effective AI deployment option.
Based on the RK3588 + RK182X platform for offline on-device large model deployment, it supports the deployment of models up to 7B. On on-device equipment it enables capabilities including video analysis summarisation, image-recognition assistants, multimodal perception, etc. At the exhibition, the highlight was on-device video-summary functionality: video is analysed on-device, enabling second-level alerts and summary queries for security, extremely timely, network-independent, privacy-protecting, stable and reliable, suitable for industrial AOI inspection, smart security, smart cities, and smart campuses.

The RV1126BJ is an important new product in Rockchip’s industrial vision matrix. In terms of CPU, NPU computing power, multimedia capability, interfaces, and perception technology, it is significantly upgraded and is suitable for optimisation in various industrial scenarios such as industrial quality inspection, smart security, and equipment monitoring. It has six major advantages:

Robotics: adapting to complex environments, intelligent motion and control
In the robotics exhibition area, multi-form robots based on RK3588 were showcased, from indoor to outdoor, matching strong performance with complex environments and functional needs, including industrial inspection robots, AGV transport robots, cleaning robots, companion robots, etc.
- • Lightweight service robot of “robot dog + mechanical arm”: based on RK3588 running ROS2 to control mechanical arm and robot dog; uses on-device RK1820 to deploy Qwen LLM & VLM for task planning and orchestration; features integrated autonomous navigation + precision manipulation, supports object-precise grabbing and transport in complex environments; suitable for inspection, security and other industrial scenarios.
- • AGV robot: equipped with RK3588 chip, delivers intelligent navigation and multi-machine scheduling solution based on Rockchip platform; in complex dynamic environments, it has strong adaptability and collaborative working capability; supports complex SLAM algorithms and real-time path planning, enabling multi-AGV cluster intelligent scheduling and management, greatly improving warehouse operational efficiency and optimising manpower costs.
- • Lawn-mower robot: pure vision-navigation mowing robot, equipped with a high-precision 3D perception AI vision system, no RTK antenna, no physical boundary wire, truly AI auto-mapping, centimetre-level obstacle avoidance, showing Rockchip’s broad empowerment in consumer and professional robot markets.
Also shown was the next-generation stereo-structured-light module RSML321 based on RV1126B, deeply fusing in-house AI stereo-matching algorithm with chip hardware capability; in complex scenes, its 3D perception ability is significantly improved, breaking through the restoration bottlenecks of traditional depth cameras in low-texture, semi-transparent, high-reflectivity or low-reflectivity materials. For scenes that traditional depth cameras cannot cover, RSML321 extends the application boundary through an AI algorithm plus a data-driven approach.
Industrial applications: deep in core scenarios, providing software-hardware integrated solutions
Rockchip is committed to providing industrial customers with hardware-software integrated complete solutions. With high-performance, high-reliability, and high-stability hardware performance, Rockchip’s industrial chips have deeply penetrated into core domains such as power, HMI, PLC, industrial gateway, and industrial vision. Its chip platform already fully supports mainstream operating systems, including Starlight Kylin OS (星光麒麟OS), Linux, OpenHarmony (鸿蒙), Unity Operating System (统信UOS) etc. Based on “AI + industry” innovative fusion, it provides strong technical + software support for the transformation and upgrade of traditional industry.
- • HMI Human-Machine Interface: exhibited from entry to high performance multiple HMI solutions: RK3506 RTOS lightweight HMI, supports RTOS SMP system, multi-core scheduling, smooth UI display in only 0.6 s; RK3568J industrial touch all-in-one machine, with high grade anti-EMC design, able to run in –20-70 °C harsh environment, already widely applied in the energy-storage industry; RK3588J high-end web HMI, supports edge computing and data analysis, suitable for advanced manufacturing industries.
- • PLC control: Rockchip provides a hardware-software integrated solution with both real-time and openness, helping industrial control system upgrades. Fully domestic high-performance PLC control solution widely noticed: based on RK3576J + FPGA multi-channel AD acquisition + processing solution, strong computing power and flexible interface expansion; uses Linux + RTOS multi-core heterogeneous system design to achieve strong real-time control, meeting demanding industrial scenario requirements. Based on RK3506J’s AMP multi-core heterogeneous solution, it achieves flexible real-time system control and complex business collaboration design.
- • Power system: Based on RK3562J, RK3568J, RV1126K solutions, shown were power concentrator, energy controller, special-transformer collection terminal, relay protection device, power monitoring equipment, temperature-rise tester, etc., with advantages of low power, low temperature rise, AI intelligent monitoring & analysis.
- • Industrial gateway: Based on RK3588J, RK3576J, RK3568J industrial-grade chip platforms, launched intelligent gateway solutions covering multiple scenarios, already scaled in coal-mine acquisition, tower maintenance, energy storage distribution monitoring, water-energy regulatory supervision and other core fields, showing excellent performance and industry adaptability. Combined with AI computing power, it enables edge-intelligent analysis, predictive maintenance, intelligent warning, adaptive optimization and other functions.
- • Industrial vision: exhibited multi-form terminal products including industrial cameras, barcode scanners, 3D printers, surveying instruments, AI monitoring etc., and launched a large-language + image multimodal large-model innovation solution based on RK3576 platform. This solution successfully breaks through the limitations of traditional vision models, achieving on-edge fusion of contextual understanding and visual perception, through lightweight model optimization and NPU acceleration technology, achieving high real-time inference speed and accurate image recognition, widely used in smart manufacturing, smart security and other scenarios.
Intelligent cockpit: AI empowers in-vehicle multi-scenario applications
Rockchip showcased intelligent cockpit, LCD instrument and in-vehicle power-amplifier applications based on RK3588M, RK3358M and RK2118M, already mass-produced commercially in domestic mainstream automakers. Based on RK3588M + RK182X intelligent cockpit AI Box solution, through multimodal fusion perception technology, it offers a convenient intelligent upgrade path for traditional vehicles. By expanding the cockpit platform’s computing power, it can realize interior + exterior visual scene intelligent recognition, such as preceding-vehicle recognition, traffic-sign real-time interpretation, eye-tracking, child-danger perception, space-gesture sensing, etc., comprehensively improving driving/passenger safety and experience.
Currently, Rockchip has partnered with many ecosystem partners to launch core boards and development kits meeting different fields’ needs, aimed at helping terminal partners reduce R&D cost, efficiently complete product validation and iteration, quickly expand industrial-field innovation applications. At this event, Rockchip focused on displaying dozens of core boards based on industrial-grade chips RK3588J, RK3576J, RK3568J, RK3562J, RK3506J, covering control, edge computing, PLC, intelligent vision and multiple key fields, providing industrial customers a full-chain support from prototype development to mass-production deployment.
With the deepening of the Industry 4.0 era, intelligence and digitalisation have become the core driving forces of industrial development. Rockchip, with its deep accumulation in the AIoT chip field, is making every effort to promote on-device AI technology’s application in all sub-scenarios of industry, injecting strong “chip” power into “Made in China”.
