The Rockchip PX3 is a power-efficient, high-performance processor designed specifically for in-vehicle infotainment systems. It operates on the Android platform and is based on the ARM Cortex architecture, featuring a quad-core Cortex-A9 processor equipped with NEON and FPU coprocessors.
The PX3 includes multiple hardware engines that boost performance for complex applications. It can decode nearly all video formats at 1080p@60fps and supports H.264, MVC, and VP8 encoding at 1080p@30fps. Additionally, it offers high-quality JPEG encoding and decoding, along with specialised image processing features both before and after rendering. An integrated 3D GPU ensures compatibility with OpenGL ES 2.0, 1.1, and OpenVG 1.1 standards. A dedicated 2D hardware engine with MMU enhances display performance for smooth visuals.
The PX3 also supports a high-bandwidth external memory interface (DDR3, LPDDR2, LVDDR3) and a comprehensive range of peripheral interfaces, enabling versatile application development.
